According to the set's liner notes, there were plans to release the entire concert on CD. In fact, when the Meters catalogue was reissued by Warner/Rhino in Germany, many mail order vendors listed a "Meters Live at Montreux" CD as well (although I have never found a copy and sincerely doubt that the disc was actually ever released.)
